Karen Reece
Sales Manager
Karen joined Talis in March 2003. Previously Karen worked in a number of roles within the library service at the University of Salford, before moving to a position at Talkingtech, a Talis partner organisation who jointly developed Talis Message. Karen has over ten years experience in the library environment and has a BA (Hons) in Literature and History and a MSc in Information Management.
Alan Holloway
Account Manager
Alan joined Talis in March 2004 as the Account Manager for Ireland and the Southern region of the UK. Alan has seven years experience in various customer focused business development roles within the software industry, working with companies such as Network Associates.
Paula Keogh
Account Manager
Paula joined Talis in January 2008, having gained over 10 years experience in the Library and Information field. Paula started her career working in public libraries and has also managed workplace libraries. Paula holds a first class BA (Hons) in Information and Library Studies from Birmingham City University and brings to Talis her previous experience of Account Management in this field.
Michelle Caraher
Internal Sales Consultant
Michelle joined Talis in November 2001, and following her first eighteen months working in Marketing, moved to her current role in the Sales Team in 2002. Since then Michelle has for the most part worked closely with Karen Reece and the Northern Region customers. Michelle helps answer queries, provides costs/quotes, and processes orders.
Alison Conway
Internal Sales Consultant
Alison joined Talis in May 2006 as an Office Support Administrator and took on her current role in November 2006. Alison works alongside Michelle answering queries, providing costs/quotes, and processing orders. Previously she worked in a number of roles within the IT industry including PC support for Land Rover, Contract Administration for AT&T and Marketing Assistant for a US Battery Company. She has a Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate and Diploma.
Mark Summers
Support & Education Manager
Mark joined Talis in July 2002 after graduating from University. Prior to been the Support & Education Manager mark acted as a technical support analyst dealing with system management queries regarding Solaris, Sybase and peripheral interaction. Mark is also an accredited Solaris 8 administrator.
Simon Burrows
Documentation Manager
Simon has over 12 years experience writing technical documentation, user assistance and marketing copy for a variety of I.T. industries. He joined Talis in 2002 where he designed and wrote the online help for Talis Alto. He has a B.A. (Hons.) in English from Loughborough Univeristy.
Sue Bennett
Services Co-ordinator
Sue originally joined Talis (formally BLCMP) in 1988 as a Helpdesk Administrator and after a break between 1990/92 following the birth of her son, returned on a part time basis to work on Reception before returning to the helpdesk. Sue currently works in the Talis Services Team. As well as being administrator for the Siebel CRM system and the administrator for customer's peripheral maintenance such as Sun and API (formally Vanitec) ensuring that all relevant kit is covered. More recently Sue has taken over the responsibility of the Talis Education and Consultancy administration.
Richard Francis
Support Analyst
Richard re-joined Talis as a Support Analyst after completing the final year of his Computer Science (Software Engineering) degree at the University of Wolverhampton. As a placement student at Talis Richard gained expereince in the infrastructure team, supporting internal systems, and also deploying Talis Prism for the consultancy team. During his final year Richard worked in IT support at the University Learning Centre.
Andy Harley
Support Analyst
Andy started work after University as a mobile librarian in Herefordshire and joined Talis (formally BLCMP) in November 1983, and is the most longstanding member of staff at Talis. He has worked in a variety of different roles for BLCMP/Talis, including development, training and product support. He currently works as a member of the Talis Support helpdesk. He has a B.Lib. (Hons.) in Latin and Librarianship, and an M.A. in Latin historiography.
Kristian Kelly
Support Analyst
Kristian joined the Talis Support helpdesk in May 2006. Previously Kristian worked as an IT recruitment consultant that followed on from a career spanning seven years as a shift leader/support analyst for a leading software house providing retail/distribution support, for front end EPOS systems and back office equipment including hardware support.
Sandra Wong
Support Analyst
Sandra joined Talis in October 1989 to work on the Talis Support helpdesk, and after a number of years moved into Talis Support as a Support Analyst. Sandra previously worked at Solihull Public Libraries and had experience in many departments. She also has a foundation level ITIL certification.
Saheed Akhtar
Technical Consultant
Saheed has worked for Talis since 1998. After spending over four years in a systems and network support role, Saheed is now working for Talis Services, helping customers with system migrations, technical audits, disaster recovery, OS/RDBMS upgrades, system security and performance tuning. Saheed has a BSc in Computer Science. He is a Solaris Certified System Administrator (SCSA) and a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) and is also a Member of the United Kingdom Sybase User Group (UKSUG).
Ateeq Altaf
Technical Consultant
Ateeq joined Talis in March 2001 having previously worked for Specialist Computer Centres (SCC) as a Field Support Analyst. Ateeq now works in Talis Client Services, helping customers with system deployment, migrations, upgrades, performance tuning and disaster recovery as well as network support, security and integration. Ateeq holds a number of professional certifications, which include Solaris Certified System/Network Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer including Messaging and Security, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Imraz Mohammed
Deployment Consultant
Imraz joined Talis in September 2003 after graduating from the University of Wolverhampton with a BSc in Computer Science, having initially spent 12 months at Talis as a placement student. Currently working as a Deployment Consultant within Talis Consultancy, Imraz is responsible for helping clients with software deployment, configuration, integration and support. He is involved in hardware specifications, procurement and system builds including RDBMS/OS upgrades and technical audits. Imraz is a Solaris Certified System Administrator (SCSA) holding a foundation level ITIL certification.

Carol Bower
Consultant
Carol has spent twenty five years in the software industry, the last eleven of which have been at Talis. Initially employed to assist in the development of the then new Talis Text, which Carol has seen through many revisions, she has migrated over the years to providing bespoke software solutions for many Talis customers. She is currently part of the newly restructured Talis Services team.
Brandon Amos
Consultant
Brandon originally joined Talis in 1995 as a placement student whilst studying for a Computer Science BSC (HONS) degree. His original responsibility was to assist with the transition from the BLS library management system to Talis Text. After completing his degree, Brandon returned to Talis working in Development on the Talis Text LMS product. Currently, he works in the Talis Consulting team focusing on bespoke developments and data conversions.
David Whitehouse
Live Services Technical Lead
David joined Talis in November 2006 with over 10 years experience in the IT Industry. During his career he has gained a broad range of technical skills and experience working in varied hosting environments spanning Banking, Manufacturing and IT Outsourcing sectors. David will be focusing on transitioning Talis's solutions into stable, scalable, high performance Live Services.
