Orders can be accessed directly by entering the system-generated Order Number, Official Order Number or Bib ID (these fields are explained in the Talis Alto glossary). For information about fields in the Order record click here.
From the Acquisitions
menu select Orders.
The Orders form is displayed.
Enter the Order
Number.
The order number must be an exact match.
Click Continue.
If found, the order record is displayed in a new tab.
From the Orders form, enter the Official
Order Number.
The official order number must be an exact match. Note that there may
be one or more orders with the same official order number.
Click Continue.
If a single order is found, the record is displayed in a new tab. If
the search identifies multiple orders, they are displayed in a results
grid.
If required, you can modify how the search results are displayed.
To view the order details, double click on a results row.
From
the Orders form, type in a valid Bib
ID.
If you don’t know the Bib ID, enter a standard identifier in the Standard
Identifier field, or click the Bib. Search button to search for the work
Click Continue.
If a single order is found for the work, the record is displayed in a new tab.
A search may result in multiple matches, where many orders have been sent for the same work. To view the order details, double click on a results row.
From the Orders form, type in a valid Item
Number.
The item number must be an exact match.
Click Continue.
The order which includes a work with a matching allocated barcode is
displayed in a new tab.
Tips
To view the bibliographic record linked to the order, click the Move to Cataloguing button. The Bib ID is ‘passed’ to the Bibliographic form, from where you can view the bibliographic details.
Provided you've been supplied with barcodes from your cataloguing service, you can receipt items directly from the orders form.
