If a borrower has more than one email addresses, one of these must be set as the default. Start and end dates can also determine which email address should be used for correspondence.
If you have not already done so, display the required borrower.
Click the Record tab.
Enter an Email Name, up to sixty characters in length.
The first email entered becomes the default email address for the borrower.
If you are using the email_post.pl
script, enter the prefix "mailto:" in front of the email address.
This allows the script email_post.pl
to pick up letters suitable for emailing.
Example
Recommended email format:

For more information about email_post.pl, contact your System Administrator.
You should also use the "mailto" prefix if you wish to be able to click on an email address and automatically generate a blank email to the borrower using your default email client.
Enter the actual Email Address. Note that:
Email addresses must contain one (and only one) '@' symbol.
Email addresses may not contain any spaces.
Enter optional Start
Date and End Dates for
this email address.
If you proceed to define more than one email address, Talis Alto will
use these fields to determine which email address should be used as the
'current' email address (for example, term and vacation addresses).
If required, enter an optional Email
Note and click Save.
The address is added to the Email
Addresses drop-down list.
From the Record
tab, click the Add Email button.
The Add Email Address pop-up form is displayed.
Enter a new Email Address Name, and click Continue.
Complete the details for the new email address, as described above. Note that:
Once you have defined more than one email address, you can set the Default Email option against the required address. This is the address to which correspondence will be sent, and which is initially displayed on the Record tab (unless the current address falls within the Start Date and End Date range).
You can change between email addresses by clicking the Email Addresses drop-down button.
The 'current' address, as defined by the start and end dates, will take priority over the default address (if different).
When the ranges between start and end dates overlap for two or more email addresses, the system selects the narrower of two current date ranges as defining the current email address for the borrower.
Click Save.
The address is added to the Email
Addresses drop-down list.
Tips
You can make an email address inactive by ‘expiring’ the email address. To do this, ensure the End date value is earlier than the current date.
