The Results tab lists the records which match your search criteria entered. Completed searches are retained in the History tab, so that you can re-run previously defined searches.
If you have not already done so, enter your search criteria and click the Search button.
Matching Work records are displayed in the Results tab.
By default, the Results grid displays the Title, Author, Publisher, Date, Classification (for local searches only) and ISBN/ISSN for each record.
Note that the Search Summary is displayed at the top of the form.
To display additional information, right click
on any row from within the results grid, and from the pop-up menu select
Columns.
The list of currently displayed columns are marked with a flag.
Set/clear the flag to toggle its display in the
results tab.
In addition to the above fields, you can also display the Title
Filing, Bib ID and the
Database from which the record
was retrieved.
To sort the table by any column, click on the
column header.
To reverse the order of the sort, click on the column header again.
To alter the width of any column, position your mouse between the header row columns and 'drag and drop' to the required width.
To show the full details of work:
Select a row and click the Full Record button, or
Double click on any row.
The record is displayed in the Full Record tab.
Tips
The maximum number of lines returned from a search can be defined using the Talis Alto Configuration Application. For more information, contact your System Administrator.
If searching a local database, you can import the Bib ID of the selected row into the form from where you clicked Bib ID, by clicking the Select button.
The Search form is closed.
The Bib ID of the selected work is displayed in the original form.
Note that if searching an external database the option will be to Import the selected record.
