Defining requester email addresses

The BLDSC's Secure Electronic Delivery (SED) is specified by selecting one of the three SED codes in the Requirement Code field. If set, you can forward the BLDSC's email (containing the URL of the requested document) to the requester's email address.

Similaraly, the BLDSC’s Unsecure Electronic Delivery service is specified by selecting one of the three PTW codes in the Requirement Code field.

To define requester email addresses

  1. If you have not already done so, display the required interloan.

  2. Ensure that Supplier field shows either BLDSC, DSC or XY/N-1; these are all valid codes for the British Library Document Supply Centre).

  3. Ensure that the Requirement Code field includes the PHOTO code and any of the SED or PTW codes (that is SED99, SED99*2*, SED99*24*, PTW*2*, PTW*24*, PTW*48*).

  4. From the Delivery Type drop-down menus select  Requester - Email.

  5. Click Requester Address tab.

  6. Click the Attach Address button to attach the displayed email address to the interloan.

  7. If you need to create a new delivery email for the interloan, you can use the form to create one .

    1. Click the Add Email button.

    2. Enter an Email Name, up to sixty characters in length.

    3. Enter the actual Email Address. Note that:

      • Email addresses must contain one (and only one) '@' symbol.

      • Email addresses may not contain any spaces.

      • The email address must not exceed 99 characters (note that this limit does not include the 'mailto' prefix, if used).

    4. If required, enter an optional Email Note and click Attach Email.

      The email address is saved and attached to the interloan.

  8. If you have defined more than one email address, use the Email Addresses drop-down button to display the email address to be used, then click the Attach Email button to attach the displayed email address to the interloan.
