Going Live This Month
The November release of Talis Engage see’s the introduction of a new functional area. The Report Management area has been built and can be used immediately. We’ve created a standard report and this will be automatically populated for you on the 1st of every month. This report will allow you to view all records with a “last check by date” falling in the current month from the preceding year. This functionality will be viewable by SysAdmin users and those users have been given specific Create/Manage reports role permissions. We will continue to enhance this area in forthcoming releases with ad hoc reports and further standard reports. To preview this functionality please visit http://trial1.talis.com/engage and login as SysAdmin with the password engage.
What else is new?
Along with the new Report Management function in the current release we are beginning to refine the Advanced Search area. There’s a new “Clear Search” button, and the ability to view all records attached to Associated Subjects. We’d very much like to hear your thoughts on the introduction of these new features and any other aspects of Engage.
Talis Engage Hints & Tips
Did you know that you can control the export of fields to your users? This can easily be set up by the SysAdmin user via Record Type Management. If you click to edit the record type, you will be able to see new check boxes against the field(s) for export. Again, you can test the export function on our preview site at http://trial1.talis.com/engage (or check the Talis Engage Blogs for these and other details).
Food for Thought
We recently attended a Digital Engagement event in London where the headline theme was “Empowering Citizens and Government through Digital Innovation”. The event explored the ongoing challenge of incorporating all citizens into the digital era, with 17 million people offline; calls for government to “think bigger” were echoed by speakers and delegates. More details of the event can be read here.
