Hello
When a book has been reserved we have set up our system to recall all on loan copies of the item. If a new reservation is then placed on the same work no new letters are generated. Has anyone been able to come up with a solution? Is there a talis solution to it that i have missed?

Do you mean if a new reservation is placed before the first one is satisfied, or after? Or both?

Hello Anne
I mean after the reservation has been satisfied. We have an example here where a reservation was placed for an item on the 26th October. All three on loan copies were recalled. It was satisfied but has subsequently been reserved again. This time one of the borrowers was unaware that the item had been recalled as they hadn't received a notification, so when they tried to renew at the counter they were most annoyed.

Hi there,

There is a PER to address this issue ALTO-CIRC237, which I’ve added University of Greenwich too.

I’m afraid the only work round I have come across is to unreserved the other copies when the reservation is satisfied.

In reservations, display the reservation that has been satisfied,
Click on the More button next to the Items Reserved field
Click the check box next to the copies which are on loan, reserved and recalled to select them
Click the unreserved button.

This removes the recall flag so reservations placed after this point in time can apply a fresh recall, but it is not a great solution.

Katharine
