When a reserved item is returned to the library for discharge or renewal, you can assign it to the first borrower in the reservation queue for that item, or choose which borrower to assign it to (if there is more than one person with a reservation against the item). In either case, the item is issued to the reservation shelf, ready for collection by your chosen borrower.
From the Discharge
screen, enter the item barcode.
The Exceptions pop-up form is displayed.
Highlight the Active reservation(s) exception.
Provided your System Manager has not configured Talis Alto to automatically assign the item to the first borrower in the reservation queue, you now have a choice:
To discharge the item without satisfying the
reservation, click the Continue
button.
This allows you to satisfy
a group of reservations from the Reservation screen at a more convenient
time.
To assign the item to the first borrower in the reservation queue, click the Satisfy button.
Click Continue to display the Reservation Item Queue, and then click Continue again.
Satisfying the reservation will discharge the item to your sites reservation shelf, ready for collection by the requester.
You should only satisfy reservations if they are to be collected from your current site. If you are not sure, click the Queue button to display the Reservation Item Queue and check the reservation's collection site.
To display the Reservation Item Queue click the Queue button. From here you can:
Chose an alternate borrower from the reservation queue to assign the item to.
Check the collection site of the reservation,
and place the item in transit, if required.
Note
Your System Manager may configure Talis Alto to automatically assign the item to the first borrower in the reservation queue. That is, you may be unable to choose an alternative borrower.
