An API for storage?

Blogged in Panlibus - Amazon have released a web service storage service.

The blogosphere seems to think it could be game changing.

Does this mean the end of the data centre?

Why fly a new disk pack + air con + UPS + support staff for your new database/archive/registry, when you could pay Amazon $0.15/GB/Month to do it for you?

How many of your eggs would you trust Amazon to put in their basket?

Given cheep web storage, what new toys could we build?
