Keystone

Hi Andy,

The reason we're curious about this is because we're starting a pilot scheme where we lend out laptops and as a result we are going to develop a web based system (probably PHP/MySQL) where we issue the laptop to a user by scanning a barcode on the laptop and then scan the users borrower card and retrieve the information by a combination of KeyStone and AJAX. lt also tells us that the person was a valid borrower.

The system will have some sort of reporting functionality built in, so we could see with what users the uptake was strongest, what laptops are currently on loan, etc. So the username, course, email & department would be very useful.

We have already started by using the guide at the URI below;
http://www.talis.com/tdn/keystone/phpcode

Even if you have pointers on what you would need to do to edit the existing ViewMyAccount method to do this it would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Eoin.

Talis Keystone Borrower Web Services

Hi Eoin,

Currently the Talis Keystone Web Service, View My Account, is concerned with exposing detailed information about a borrowers account (loans, resevations, ILL's, bookings and charges) and providing a single-sign on link to the OPAC.

We do plan to expand the Web Services in the area of borrower services to address many use-cases, those of which you have mentioned above, which cover the personal account details of the borrower - address, photo from Alto (maybe ;-) ) etc...

Out of interest, what integration requirements do you have which requires this information from Talis Keystone? What type of system would you like to integrate with?

Cheers,

-Andy

I'm looking for help/information on how we could write a web service that would retreive the Name, Department, Course and Email Address for a borrower using Talis Keystone. This would be be seperate from the existing ViewMyAccount service. Has anyone done anything like this?
