Welcome

Welcome to this evolving community space, and to these forums.

The whole notion of 'Library 2.0' is one in which librarians, library members, developers, software companies and other third parties are able to work together, and to build rich and innovative new services which orchestrate value from a range of previously separate (and often closed) silos of data.

We discuss some of these ideas in our recent 'Library 2.0: the challenge of disruptive innovation' (PDF) and in our other white papers.

This is very much intended as a shared space, around which a community of interested parties can grow. There are no complex membership requirements, and no need to have a particular library system from a single vendor. All you need is knowledge, experience, data or services that you wish to share or talk about or, conversely, knowledge, experience, data or services that you wish to use or learn about. Or you may even just wish to lurk until one or other of those is true.

This is your space. It will succeed or fail by your efforts. Get involved. Tell us what you want. Share what you have, engage in the discussion, and let us all work to build better library services for the future.

Shared innovation.
