Proponent of Library 2.0 recognised
John Blyberg, Network Administrator and Lead Developer at Ann Arbor District Library, has been recognised as a 2006 Mover and Shaker by Library Journal.
John, who appears in the next Library 2.0 Gang podcast to talk about the future of the OPAC, has consistently demonstrated a sound understanding of some of the ways in which a community of committed innovators can work around the legacy issues prevalent in many of today's library systems and deliver a far more user-focused experience of the library.
Quoting from the article,
"His commitment to Library 2.0 principles parallels his commitment to open source. 'OS transcends politics, hate, war, prejudice, greed, and everything else that stifles creativity and innovation. In my heart, I know OS is a doctrine I want to embrace."
With thanks to Erica Reynolds for drawing this to our attention.
