Checking Alto Charges and Credits  (Feb 2008)
The check_charges.pl script will list any charges that have a larger credit value than their charge value or have a negative credit value. The borr_check_charges.pl will do similar checks for a specified borrower.

Extracting and Importing data into the UTILITY_LOG table  (Jan 2008)
The UTILITY_LOG table holds data on the running of certain scripts. In some cases users may want to run scripts on the MIS server but it difficult to run the scripts in update mode as the last date the script was run will be lost when the Talis Alto database on the MIS server is updated with the data from the live Talis Server.
The utility_log.pl script extracts the UTILITY_LOG rows for a named script and extracts them to a file. The script will also insert data from the file at a later date.

Emailing letters from Talis Alto  (Sep 2007)
The email_post.pl script can be used to send pages from a file of letters to specified email addresses. This article outlines what needs to be configured within Alto and on the Talis server to allow email_post.pl to be used successfully.

Cancelling Proposed Orders  (Sep 2007)
The orr_pro_ords_del.pl script allows the deletion of uncompleted proposed orders. This is sometimes required because when a supplier sends EDI quotes as Proposed Orders with incorrect information in the quote e.g. fund code, site code then the system will produce the orders with no item attached.

Identifying Suppressed and Deleted Works on Talis List  (Jun 2007)
The del_and_sup_on_rl.pl script produces a list of works in Talis List that have been deleted or suppressed in Talis Alto. The results can be emailed.

The get_dla_list.pl script produces a list of items that can be loaded into a 3M Digital Library Assistant.

Update to res_wait_list script to show reserver details in alphabetical order  (May 2007)
The res_wait_list script lists items awaiting collection by site and classmark. The script does not display the details of the borrower who has reserved the items awaiting collection.
As many customers shelved items on the reservation shelf in borrower order the res_wait_list_2 script will now display the reserver details e.g. Surname, First Names and barcode. The items are ordered by site, Surname, First Names and then classmark.

Waiving charges for borrowers  (Mar 2007)
This article details how to run the waive_charges.pl script. The script allows the batch waiving of charges based on total charges being less than a user-defined limit. It is also possible to limit the borrowers who will have charges waived by borrower type and location. It is also possible to limit the charges waived to particular charge types.

This article details how to install a set of scripts, modify_author_tag.pl, modify_keyword_tag.pl, modify_stopwords_tag.pl and modify_title_tag.pl. These scripts allow the reporting and update of the tags and stopwords used in the creation of the catalogue access points.

Unsuppressing works - Version 2  (Oct 2006) (Updated Jul 2007)
This article details how to install the work_unsuppress_2.pl script. The script can be run against batches of works to unsuppress the details and allow the work to be seen in Talis Prism. This script should only be run by customers on Alto 4.0 or higher. This script was updated in July 2007 to improve performance.
Please replace any previous version downloaded before July 2007 with the current version.

Removing the ILL Manager lock file automatically  (Oct 2006)

Adding standard messages to borrowers from a list  (Mar 2008)
The above article outlines how to add message to batches of borrowers based on selection from an SQL query. This article uses a PERL script, add_message_2.pl to read in borrower barcodes from a file. A specified message is then added to each borrower if they exist in the database.

Modified res_itm_noloan script  (Jun 2006)
This article describes how to install a modification to the res_itm_noloan script. The res_itm_noloan2 script will list for each item in the report, the items and their home site that are connected to the reservation for which the item was listed in the report. All items are displayed regardless of their current availability.
