Adding variables to MIS PERL scripts that use arrays
(Jul 2007)
It is possible to add additional data to the output of the MIS scripts by retrieving the information from the database. This is done by updating the retrieve.pl and format.pl files for a script by assigning data from a SQL query to a variable and then inserting the variable in the format description. With some scripts another stage is required as the script retrieves all the data for all the letters and stores the data in an array before creating the output file. This allows the order of the letters to be sorted more efficiently.
