This is the voice of the library
My colleague Andy Latham has a post on Talis' panlibus blog, in which he takes inspiration from the latest Library 2.0 Gang show to leverage another Talis Platform API (documentation coming shortly) in order to generate a spoken description of your library account details.
Not a replacement for the recall/overdue letters that arrive days after you returned the item, the existing web interface, face to face contact with library staff, or the battery of human and machine-driven telephone services already in use, but it certainly has potential as another tool in the toolbox. And, as Andy writes, the use of existing web services made it easy for him to produce.
