Encouraging the European Developer Community
Later this month, over 100 library system developers gather in Athens, Georgia (Georgia the US state, not Georgia the country) for the latest code4lib conference. Seeing some interest in a similar European event, we are running a poll to measure that interest. Please participate in the poll, and mention it to your peers.
Code4Lib is one of those things that has gone from strength to strength, with the franchise now encompassing an active irc channel, a mailing list, and more.
The code4lib conference began last year, in Oregon, and this year moves to Georgia. Talis' Rob Styles and Richard Wallis will be attending, along with many of the most visible library tech proponents from universities, vendors, and elsewhere.
There has long been a perception that North America is more visibly active in this area than we are in Europe, but that may simply not be true. In order to gauge interest in a related event here in Europe, we're running a poll until 15 February.
Results of this poll are available here.
