Suppressing a new site

Hello,
If I set up a new site is there an easy way to suppress it from prism or do I have to edit the main collection sql (currently blank as everything is included) in manage_collection.
We are ordering items for a partnership we have with another institution and the ordered items will never be held as part of our collection. I could withdraw the items after they have been receipted but they would still appear on prism while on order.
Any ideas Appreciated.

suppressing a new site in Prism

In the Talis Alto Configuration tool there is the section Parameter Management| Rules |OPAC | Collection Rules. Have you tried this?

This should allow you to define what items are visible in a collection based on a number of item categories. One of these categories is Site.

If there are no sites then all sites will be displayed

(When I say all it would depend on the collection select criteria. If you were only displaying Main library items because of the collection SQL the collection rules would not add in more sites if they were selected in the list.)

If you add in sites to the list then only those items at the listed sites will be displayed for the specified collection. As it is an inclusive list that does mean that you will have to list all the sites you WANT to see and omit the sites you don't want to see.

You can also have combinations of different item categories. You just need to make sure the All option is set correctly. "No" means the item need only meet one of the collection rules to be displayed. "Yes" means that items must satisfy one of every item category specified to display in the collection. If you only have the one category then you don't need to worry about this.

Further details can be seen in the Alto Help

Suppressing a new site.

I'd had a look at this but all the fields where empty so I was quite reluctant to change it.
I've added our current sites and tested and it's doing exactly what I need. Thank you for your help.
Kind Regards
