site parameter transfer script
Hi
I am running the site_parameter_transfer script to transfer loan rules and dead days across sites and it runs ok but will not create the report file. the following error is reported when the script starts, and again when the script completes but no report file is created. Just thought you may want to check this out if it is related to running on a windows system.

site parameter transfer script
Thanks for letting me know of the problem. I'll look at this for the Windows version.
The TDN scripts were generally created in a Solaris UNIX environment so there may be issues in some cases. There is more likely to be issues with shell scripts that the Perl scripts which are by design more portable.

site_parameter_transfer script
Hi, this is the first time I've seen this script. Can this be used to transfer changes to fees and charges? where can I find more information on this - the pdf listed doesn't exist anymore?
site parameter transfer script
There isn't a link in this thread to the article.
The article is available and called Parameter transfer script
The article and download are at http://www.talis.com/tdn/alto_tech
I don't think it transfers fine type and values.

I'm finding I can't install
I'm finding I can't install this. After downloading it to my Windows PC and copying it via FTP (switching type to BIN) to the Talis server, I try running
tar xvf site_parameter_transfer.tar
and immediately get
tar: tape blocksize error
Would this be the same problem caused by downloading through Internet Explorer 6? If so, is there an FTP address I can download it from to bypass the problem? IE6 is the only browser I have here.
Apologies if I've asked this here before - I can't see any way of searching for my own posts in the forums, and searching for site_parameter_transfer doesn't bring it up.
Thank you.

downloading file
If you add the .gz extension to the file when being saved in IE you will then find that you can open that in WinZip (or use 7-Zip as that works better anyway on the original file) and extract the .tar file and that can be FTP'd to the server.
