Printing Overdue Reminder Letters

We are planning to print our overdue reminder letters on a Kodak Digimaster EX150 printer and need, I think, to send a file from the Talis box to the printer in pdf format (possibly also including some KDK directives (?)). We are happily using loa_odue_letter to extract a file. It's getting it to the printer in a format the printer can understand which is causing a problem. Has anyone got any experiences they wish to share (about creating pdf files on a Sun / Solaris box, that is)?
