Can you schedule archive_trandumps to dump to disk?

Hi,
I am a bit of a newbie to Talis. We are currently re-locating our server to our main corporate server bank to which I have limited access. To achieve this we have recently moved to dump2disk rather than DAT backup which is working really well.

The only thing which we now need to save to a DAT tape on a regular basis is the archive_trandumps script. I have 2 Questions..

1. How long should we keep the achived trandumps once on tape, I have lots of tapes which I believe can be disposed of? My interpretation is that they are only needed between full database backups, in our case 24 hours.

2. Can we archive the trandumps to disk on our MIS server as we do the fulldbdump and is there a script to remove old files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
