Platform

Talis Platform

The Talis Platform is an open and extensible Web 2.0 platform that enables you to participate in a revolutionary shared architecture for creating, locating and delivering relevant content.

Before You Start

The majority of the services provided by the Talis Platform require you to register for an API key. This is a token that identifies your application and must be supplied with each service call. You may have any number of API keys. You must be a member of the TDN to obtain an API Key. Once you've signed up go to your account page and click on the "api keys" tab.

While some of the Platform services, such as deep linking to OPACs, can easily be used by non-programmers there are also a number of advanced services that will require development knowledge. These services include searching and manipulating the information held in the Silkworm Directory or querying Talis Source holdings. The following Platform documentation is split into a user section which may not assume any particular programming skills and a reference section that contains full technical details of the Platform and its services.

If you have any suggestions or comments about the platform documentation come and join the discussion in the forum
