Location

A Location is a physically accessible place at which a Collection may be accessed.

Class Information

There are a number of sub-classes that will also be available in the directory:

Typical Properties

  • dc:title (0 or 1) - a string representing the name of the Location as it is commonly called in its native language. Free text. For example: "British Library at St. Pancras".
  • ad:streetAddress (0 or 1) - the building name and number and street name. For example: "13 Queen Street"
  • ad:localityName (0 or 1) - the name of the city, town, village or other geopolitical region for which the streetAddress is unambiguous. For example: "Santiago 1400"
  • ad:regionName (0 or 1) - the name of the region within the country, principality or national entity. For example: "Alabama"
  • ad:countryName (0 or 1) - the name of the country, principality or national entity. For example: "Egypt"
  • ad:postalCode (0 or 1) - the postcode or zipcode of the address. For example: "NN14 7DS"
  • ad:tel (0 or 1) - a telephone number which can be used to contact a person at the address. The number must be in standard international format. For example: "+43 1 53410437"
  • ad:fax (0 or 1) - a fax number which can be used to contact a person at the address. The number must be in standard international format. For example: "+43 1 53410434"
  • geo:lat (0 or 1) - the latitude of the Location in decimal degrees. For example: "48.2167"
  • geo:long (0 or 1) - the longitude of the Location in decimal degrees. For example: "16.3667"
  • dct:alternative (0 or more) - a string representing any form of the name used as a substitute or alternative to the formal name of the Location. Free text.
  • ad:sundayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Sunday.
  • ad:mondayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Monday.
  • ad:tuesdayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Tuesday.
  • ad:wednesdayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Wednesday.
  • ad:thursdayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Thursday.
  • ad:fridayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Friday.
  • ad:saturdayOpeningTimes (0 or 1) - textual description of the hours of business on a normal Saturday.
  • ad:openingTimesNote (0 or 1) - a textual description of exceptions to usual opening hours.

Typical Relationships

  • foaf:homepage (0 or 1) - a reference to a web page deemed to be the home page of the Location for human readers.
  • foaf:mbox (0 or 1) - a general email address (mailbox) that can be used to contact the Location
